The men stand straight, politely tipping their hats to a lady who may pass, speaking of business over cigars and whiskey. The women sit there calmly, like they should. Calm, keeping their family name above scandal, their corsets tight and pinching. No one does what they want to. No one says what they mean. Deception is everywhere.
In the 1800s, London, England was at the peak of its fashion. The families who were living there were esteemed, from old blood and old money. Their way of life was glamorous with various parties and beautiful dresses, amazing jewels and complete romance. But things aren't always as they seem. The pretty ladies and polished gentlemen all hide secrets, whether it be secret love affairs, low money, or family problems, everyone has something they have to deal with.
The only thing these rich socialites can't afford is scandal. Too bad that's all they have coming their way.
And then there are the servants, who, everyday have to watch the Misters and Misses lead the lives they'll never have. The work in the kitchen, in the stables, or even as personal maids, always a step away from the glitz and glamour but not quite close enough. Still, these lower-classmen have their fun in their underground parties and sketchy bars.
What can't you do with nothing to lose?
Welcome to the Victorian Era. Put on your best party dress, its about to get intresting.
